Paul M. Bernstein and Associates counsel adolescents, adults, couples, families and groups.

 

Dr. Bernstein evaluates students who may require special accommodations or placement.

 

As an expert qualified to testify in Pennsylvania courts and the Federal Court, he assess and testifies on behalf of the government, plaintiffs and defendants in civil and criminal cases.

 

For many years he has tested persons with disabilities for the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to help clients receive appropriate training and return to work.  Career assessments/job counseling is one of his specialties.

 

The Disability Determination Division of the Office of Social Security employs Dr. Bernstein's services to decide if an applicant is eligible for benefits.

 

Businesses and public organizations utilize his evaluations to help them find the most qualified job applicants. He also assist the City of Pittsburgh, several police academies and many municipalities to select individuals who wish to become police officers, and he tests security guards for Lethal Weapons Act 235.

 

In 1998 Governor Ridge appointed him to the Sexual Offenders Assessment Board for Megan’s Law to help the courts decide whether a convicted sex offender is a “Sexually Violent Predator” and he assists defendants accused of committing sex offenses.

 

As a consulting psychologist on the medical staff of Forbes Regional and Western Pennsylvania Hospitals, Dr. Bernstein has admitting privileges and counsel and evaluates patients.
